Broncos Week 4 Post-Game Analysis: Denver at Kansas City

Well, crap.

I should have known better.  If there ever was a trap game, that was it.  Or was it?  Denver was anemic against the lowly Chiefs on Sunday.  Shanahan’s record now in Arrowhead is a lofty 3 – 11, and Denver continues to puzzle me but now on both sides of the ball.  Denver dropped the game Sunday 33 – 19, and once again the better team (on paper of course) walked away with a loss.

Sleeping with the enemy?

Not really, but hey it sounds catchy.

ESPN reports that the greatest quarterback in NFL history will be tying the knot with a former Oakland Raiders cheerleader.

I know, I know.  Why am I reporting about this, when it has nothing to do with the Broncos?  It’s because he is the greatest Denver Broncos quarterback to play the game, and it just sounds news worthy.  She is hot John, but seriously…couldn’t you pick someone that used to cheer in the NFC?

I am kidding of course, congratulations to them both.  I just hope they don’t have any children because that kid will be forced to choose.  Denver or, well…Denver.  On the bright side a Bronco took something else from the Raiders again this year, we already had their dignity after week 1.

Broncos Week 4 Preview: Denver at Kansas City

Thank you Martin Gramatica.  Because of your miss, Denver escaped week 3 unblemished with a 34 – 32 win over the New Orleans Saints and moved to 3 – 0.  This week Denver travels to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.  Denver beat them in their house last year, but has not beaten them twice in a row at Arrowhead since the 1970’s.  Will we break that trend this year?

Denver Broncos News: Player Moves

This has been a busy week for the Broncos.  Denver signed guard Dylan Gandy, who was previously release by the team September 9th.  Gandy was solid during training camp and will add some much needed depth to the offensive line.  Also acquired yesterday was rookie corner back Josh Bell who was previously waived by the San Diego Chargers on August 31st.  Bell will head to the practice squad at this point.  Denver also added defensive back Vernon Fox who last played with the Redskins.  Fox is a veteran of 7 years in the league.

I was somewhat surprised to see strong safety Hamza Abdullah released on Tuesday, but given the additions of McCree and Manuel I guess the Broncos did not see the need Abdullah.

Denver Broncos News: Tom Nalen on Injured Reserve

15 year veteran center Tom Nalen was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday due to a nagging left knee injury that was operated on during the summer. Nalen was a key to the powerful running game, and back to back super bowl titles in 1997 and 1998 as well as Terrell Davis’ 2000 yard rushing season in 1998.  Sadly, this will likely mark the end of Nalen’s career as well.  Signing veteran center Casey Wiegmann during the off season is proving to be a smart move.  Wiegmann was originally slotted as backup to Nalen but obviously is the starter now and playing well.

Broncos Week 3 Post-Game Analysis: New Orleans at Denver

Well I was pretty damn close.  Last week I predicted a 35 – 31 Denver win.  The final was 34 – 32 and thanks to a missed Martin Gramatica field goal, Denver escaped week 3 with a record of 3 – 0.  How did we play?  Read on to find out!

Broncos Week 3 Preview: New Orleans at Denver

After an exciting and controversial 39 – 38 home win last week against the Chargers, Denver hosts the New Orleans Saints in week 3.  Both teams have some defensive issues and this could turn into a similar shootout.
