NFL.com reports that ling-time Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has been fired following an epic collapse to end the 2008 season.
I have to admit, this is a bit shocking. Buckle up Bronco nation, this could be a bumpy ride.

Mr. Bowden… I don’t care what it costs, let’s hire the best head coach that proved himself with back to back Super Bowl wins with the Broncos…..John Elway. He was the real coach and his guidance, knowledge, capability etc reflects a true winner.

It won’t happen in terms of head coach but I will bet that Elway is a part of the Broncos in some way. I think he would be a terrific VP of player ops or something like that.

they should hire elway as head coach they hire ex players all the time in the nba plus he would be able to tame top gun cutler

Yeah but the NBA is a totally different animal. I think Elway should be in the organization somehow, and definitely involved with the players in terms of development but being a good QB does not translate into coaching x’s and os in my opinion.
